Please join us for our October Books and Boots hike! This month, we'll be reading "Where The Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens. This is a wonderful story about a young girl, Kya, and her survival growing up alone in the marsh. The imagery of the wilderness she lives in and learns about, is beautifully written. We'll have lots to talk about as we learn about Kya's decisions and the people she meets. Your local library should have the book, so make sure to reserve it soon. If not, ask your friends or family if they have a copy to borrow. We'll meet at 8:45am at Guelph Line and hike toward Fisher's Pond where we'll walk toward the pond and circle around it and then pick up the main trail back to our cars. The numbers of hikers will be limited to keep the group small enough for discussion about the book. Although I'd love everyone to read the book, it isn't necessary (but there will be spoilers).
