Description

Join us for the first of four hikes covering the complete Dufferin Hi-Land section of the Bruce Trail.

We begin at the southern end of the Dufferin Hi-Land section at Mono Centre and hike north for approximately 15 km to Hurontario Street.

Much of today's hike passes through the beautiful Mono Cliffs area. We will experience mature hardwood forest, Escarpment terrain, rolling hills and several substantial climbs and descents. This is classic Bruce Trail country and a fine introduction to the varied terrain we will encounter as we work our way north toward Lavender.

This is a point-to-point hike requiring a car shuttle. Please arrive by 8:30 a.m. with your vehicle passenger-ready. We plan to begin the shuttle at approximately 8:45 and start hiking at approximately 9:00. Everyone is expected to participate in the car shuttle once or twice during the 4 days hike.

Expect rocky, root-covered and potentially muddy or slippery trail conditions. Hiking boots or sturdy hiking shoes are required and hiking poles are strongly recommended.

Bring approximately 2 litres of water, lunch and snacks and dress in layers appropriate for the weather.

This is Hike 1 of 4 in our Dufferin Hi-Land End-to-End series.
