Description
Meet-up at Lindsay Tract Parking Lot. Strap on your snowshoes and get ready to explore a winter wonderland! We’ll hike about 5 km through the beautiful Lindsay Tract—Bruce County’s largest forest - over 8,000 acres. Our route will follow the Lindsay Tract Trail system, and we may even have the fun challenge of breaking trail through fresh snow. We’ll stop at the warming hut for a break, so bring your thermos with a hot drink, water and snack. Hiking poles and gaiters can make the trek easier, but they’re completely optional. Good balance and endurance are required. We have a special treat - Chris Sanderson, Bruce County Environmental Services Supervisor, will join us at lunch to tell us more about the Lindsay Tract Forest and its trail system. Plan on 3 hours (including stop at warming hut).
No snowshoes? You can borrow a pair from your local Bruce County Library, or let us know—we may have a pair available for you.
There is much to explore at Lindsay Tract. If you wish to extend your day, bring your lunch and explore the other forest trails here, after our hike.
Free parking. Portapottie on site.
