Easy Nature Ramble

Explore both popular and hidden spots on the Bruce Peninsula. These outings provide a leisurely appreciation of the environment with an emphasis on the flora.Our first stop is the ANSI-protected cemetery bog where we will be treated to a display of Showy Lady Slippers. On to Petrel Point where Round-leaved and Slender-leaved Sundew, Bog Orchid, Lobelia, Loesel’s Twayblade, Cotton Grass, Indian Plantain,Rue and Sweetgale can be observed from the boardwalk.

Lavender to Dunedin Ravine Nature Reserve

Distance: 10 kmWe will carpool to km 0.0 at Lavender in the Blue Mountain Section, leaving a car along the way at km 8.5. Following the Main
Trail north through open fields and mixed hardwoods, we will
descend to and cross the Noisy River. We will then climb out of
the valley and follow the trail north passing through the new
(1.5 km) Dunedin Ravine Nature Reserve to km 8.5 where the

Good Companions - Felker's Falls

Meet in the parking lot of Battlefield Park at the corner of King Street and Centennial Parkway, Stoney Creek. From the QEW follow Centennial Pkwy south to where it intersects with King Street. If coming from the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy and north on the Red Hill Valley Pkwy, turn right on King Street West and continue east to the intersection of King Street and Centennial.We will carpool to Kingsview Drive off Mud Street on the mountain. The hike overall is downhill, although the trail has ups and downs. There are views of Lake Ontario and we pass by Felker’s Falls. There is one section where the descent is steeper. A shorter but good hike for a hot summer day.

Walk for Health and Fun - West Hamilton

Climb the steps and walk the streets and trails of West Hamilton. We will hike sections of the Bruce Trail as well as the trails of Iroquoia Heights. There will be weekly walks all summer. Now we are all getting older we are not hiking as fast as we used to. Hike is cancelled if there is heavy rain.

Spring Valley Jersey Side Rd

This 11 km loop hike will take approximately 3 hours and is at a medium pace over strenuous terrain. There is no dropout point. No dogs please.
Depart: 10:00 am. Meet at the Ancaster Little League Park.
Directions: From Hamilton take 403 W to Ancaster. Exit at Wilson St. turn right. At the traffic circle exit at Meadowbrook St. (3nd Exit). Take Meadowbrook to Jerseyville Side Rd. Turn Right. Pass the high school, Little League Park is on the right at the bottom of the hill.
